Intended learning outcomes

After approval of the course, students should possess the ability to:

  1. Identify theoretical models studied in real situations and calculate probabilities associated with those models;
  2. Apply the techniques of descriptive statistics and exploratory data analysis in the study of a set of data and interpret the results;
  3. Apply the techniques of statistical inference and interpret the results;
  4. Analyze and interpret, with a critical mind, the results obtained by establishing an appropriate report as support for the decision-making;
  5. Identify, plan and implement appropriate statistical methodology to solve a concrete problem;
  6. Using the software R (free use) for probabilistic calculation and descriptive and inferential statistical analysis of a data set.
